Gladiator Rock’n Run
Gladiator Rock’n Run is pretty similar to a lot of the other obstacle course events. It happens in various locations across the US. The length of the course varies from location to location from around 5k to 7k and around 15-18 obstacles. The participants race against people of their own age groups.
There are three bands and the usual after party with a free beer, costume contest and awards for the winners.
Here is a video so you can see the general course and obstacles presented. You can see in the video some of the people aren’t in the greatest shape so if you are trying your first event or worried about finishing this may be a good one to start with.
The one unique twist to this event is there are several extra challenges that people can participate in afterwards. The creator of this event was from American Gladiators the cheesy show from the 90s. You can participate in some scaled down events in the Rock’n Rumble Pit. They are:
- Pugil Mayhem
- Mud Tug-O-War
- King of Ruin
- King of the Ring
Difficulty
This event is a similar in difficulty to the other 5k events like Warrior Dash. A person reasonably healthy should be able to complete the event. If you want to push yourself for time, the fitter the better.
